10/12/2011
On the International Day for Human Rights, which is commemorated every December 10, several well-known public figures took a stand and declared themselves to be human rights defenders in Latin America and the Caribbean to support the regional campaign "Declare Yourself a Human Rights Defender."

Defensores de derechos humanos This initiative of the Regional Office for South America of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) promotes the mass participation of all people through social networks and encourages ownership of the title “human rights defender.”
